NEW SCHOOLS OR SCHOOLS THAT ARE NOT APPROVED IN 2009

If you are not currently approved and you wish to become a BSA approved "British Surf School" you need to follow this procedure:

- Download the form BSS001 British Surf Schools Scheme Regulations and Application:    

- Send the completed forms  to the BSA head office with copies of all the required documentation (Details of the requirements can be found on the Requirements page and also on the Application form download) and the appropriate payment

- The application will be reviewed by the BSA and any queries / missing documentation will be directed back to the surf school manager / operator

EXISTING APPROVED SCHOOLS IN 2009

If you are an existing approved school and you wish to renew for 2010, you need to follow this simplified procedure:

- Download the form BSSR001 - British Surf School Renewal Form:  

- Send the completed form with a copy of insurance document (policy cert or cover note only is required) and the appropriate payment

(Note - all currently approved schools will be sent this form and an invoice in January 2010)

Providing that the schools full documentation is in an appropriate and accessible order, that the correct fee has been paid and the school meets the requirements of the BS scheme, then the school will be awarded its BSA "British Surf School" status and sent the registration resource pack including:

- A British Surf Schools Accreditation Certificate

- £100 discount off 1 coaching course

- Marketing material to advertise the approval status and the benefits that customers can expect from school scheme membership

- Promotion of the surf school through website, and other avenues

- A direct Liaison Officer and Inspector mentoring service for the school  

FEES

The BS registration fee for 2010 is £350 and is payable on application.

In the event of a school not being accepted onto the BS scheme, the schools fee payment will be repaid less a £50 deduction for BSA application handling costs

CUT OFF DATES

From 2010 the approved school registration period of membership will run from January to December, in the calendar year of application. However all registered schools renewing their registration have up to April of the renewal year
