Accredited Prior Learning
If you already have coaching experience and qualifications which would be transferable to Surf coaching, then the BSA operate a scheme of Accredited Prior Learning, which will allow you progress to the qualification level suitable to your experience and qualification. If you wish to be considered for this, please complete the APL form below and submit with your course application.
An APL form should only be completed in conjunction with a Coaching Course application. APL alone does not allow a coach to be awarded a Coaching Certificate. By submitting details of your APL with your application, then the BSA and Training Centre can assess which modules of the course you should complete and which can be excluded
In addition, APL can also be used to skip a level of course (ie level 1) and move straight to a higher level coaching course. Again the APL form must be submitted alongside your application and this will be reviewed by the BSA and Training Centre.
Please note - when booking a course to be held at the BSA , then payment is sent to the BSA office.
If you are booking a course at an alternative accredited training centre then payment and the application form should be sent to them (NOT the BSA). Please contact the Accredited Training Centre for forms and payment details (see bottom of page for contact details)
