Croyde Surf Club maintained there superiority of the
British Surf Club scene by racking up an incredible
11th win of the British Inter-Club Championships at
Woolacombe, N Devon at the weekend.
Croydes surfers were so strong that
a Junior B Team were the only team to challenge
them for the 1st place trophy.
At the end of the contest 3 teams
had tied for 3rd place, so a surf off was quickly
organised between the Johnny Fryer of Isle of Wight,
Neil Clifton of Woolacombe and Terry Crump of Wessex,
in which the Isle of wight ripper came out on top
to give his club the coveted 3rd spot.
10 teams took to the water for the
Championships in a variety of conditions from 3ft
to triple over head, torential rain and glorious
sunshine.
The event is more than just a surf
competition and the socialings was supported by
the sponsor Tribute Ale - a great time was had by
all.
