Level 2 & 3 coaching course South Africa December 2005

o:p>
A series of 3 Surf coaching Accreditation courses were run in South Africa in December by BSA Coaching Director Barrie Hall.
2 x level 2 courses were conducted in Durban and Cape Town and a final level 3 course was run in Durban.
The courses were a follow on series from earlier in the year when Barrie Hall delivered 3 level 1 courses to the country.
The course material has been bought and adopted by Surfing South Africa, the National Governing Body for surfing in SA.
It is all part of their development programme to educate , adopt and implement professional surf coaching practices to that part of the world.
The Level 2 course deals with advanced surfing techniques and video analysis as well as sport science modules on fitness & nutrition. It also covers Health & Safety for surf coaches and surf schools.
The level 3 course focuses on competitive surfing and covers judging, tactics, contest preparation , performance evaluation ,and the staffing roles and duties of contest officials.
The courses were all very well accepted and the response from all involved was very positive.
Coaches taking part were the cream of the crop in South Africa , with Springbok National team coaches for both Senior and junior teams all involved.
This reaffirms the fact that the BSA’s surf coaching accreditation programme is a world leader.
